Zoe Bower is a Los Angeles based writer, producer, film professional and teacher. A 2016 graduate of the UCLA MFA Screenwriting program, Zoe is the winner of the David C. Baumgarten Award, the Jay Grossman Comedy Writing Award, and a Humanitas finalist. Zoe has taught courses at both the graduate and undergraduate level and enjoys teaching the creative process and mentoring writers from diverse backgrounds.
A native of California, Zoe grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and spent her teens in the DIY punk and riot grrrl scene, where she became active in the zine community at an early age, self-publishing her first illustrated zine at the age of 13.
Zoe's interests in independent film, music and art led her to UC Santa Barbara, where she studied Film and Media Studies. After moving to Los Angeles, Zoe worked as a post production coordinator on 18 studio and independent films, including Guardians of the Galaxy, Divergent, A Single Man and The Runaways. In her spare time, Zoe has volunteered on music documentaries, produced and directed music videos for bands like Black Mountain, and contributed stories for L.A. Record, Psychic Gloss, and The Santa Barbara Independent.
Zoe lives in LA with her fiancé and cat and is currently working on creative projects and planning their honeymoon.
